English Boiler, LLC designs, manufactures and constructs utility, industrial and commercial grade watertube boilers, Lamont style high temperature hot water generators, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and alternative energy systems.
English Boiler pioneered the concept of Shop-Modular boilers, which features an entire steam plant that is designed and built in the shop, and assembled into modules built into weatherproof enclosures that include all internal wiring, piping and controls factory-installed. The unique burner assembly in the immersion-fired boilers delivers mixed air/gas through multiple nozzles. The air/gas mixture is ignited as it exits each nozzle and is forced into each tube at high velocity and goes through the boiler at a single pass. This design improves heat transfer and virtually eliminates thermal stress and refractory materials to reduce maintenance costs.
Biogas and methane boilers allow steam to be generated from low energy biogas from landfills, wastewater treatment plants, settlement ponds and agricultural waste. These can be offered in dual-fuel designs, which can burn natural gas when biogas is low or unavailable. Clean Steam boilers for low-pressure steam applications have tubes that are sheathed in copper. The copper expands and contracts during heating cycles, causing any accumulated hardness to ball to the bottom of the boiler where it is removed during normal blowdown cycles. The copper-clad tubes and epoxy lining of the internal shell allow the boilers to be used without deaerators, feedwater systems, pumps or chemicals. These boilers can be fed directly from building water supplies.
Columbia’s MPH Series is competitively priced, narrow in width and easily serviced. This boiler is a modified Scotch, three-pass fire tube design for use as a 15-PSI-steam or 30-PSI-water unit. The sizes range from 5 BHP to150 BHP, natural gas or LP gas, #2 oil, dual fuel or biogas fired. Ideal for: breweries, distilleries, schools, apartments, bakeries, brewpubs, Laundromats, dairies and many more applications. Most sizes can be fit through a standard 36” doorway.
Columbia manufactures several designs to economically use waste motor oil, cooking oil, transmission fluids and other petroleum-based fuels to generate low-pressure steam and hot water for hydronic heating, domestic water heating, parts cleaning and process heating applications.
